Georgia Geen, Intern
Georgia Geen, a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, will be interning as copy editor at the Roanoke Times this summer. A double major in print/online journalism and Spanish, pursuing a certificate in Spanish-English translation and interpretation, she hopes to cover immigration and politics after she graduates in 2020. She is fluent in Spanish and frequently travels to the Dominican Republic.
At VCU, Georgia is the executive editor for the independent student newspaper The Commonwealth Times. She just finished a semester reporting on the Virginia General Assembly and was published in outlets across the country.
