Snapchat, YouTube and G Suite back online after widespread outages


Both Snapchat and YouTube are experiencing outages on June 2 that prevent users from accessing their platforms.



The outage impacted Snapchat, YouTube, Discord, a gaming app, and a variety of Google sites. An issue with network congestion in Google Cloud played a role in the outage, said Google.

As of 4:22 p.m. CST, services on the platforms are back up, Mashable said.


4:05 p.m.:

Users of both Snapchat and YouTube experienced outages in the afternoon of June 2. The outages impacted people from across the globe. In the United States, users in several cities, including Dallas, Chicago, San Diego and Tampa, reported outages, according to a live outage map from YouTube users also reported outages across the globe

Both Snapchat and YouTube acknowledged the outages on their Twitter support accounts. Snapchat tweeted out that they were aware of the issue at 12:20 p.m. CST, while YouTube said they were “working to fix it” at 12:48 p.m. CST
