Sidney Madden is a 19-year-old junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she serves as the longform editor for the Daily Illini, the university's newspaper. Sidney will be working at BuzzFeed in New York City as an intern on the copy desk, but she will also get some reporting experience on the breaking news desk too. Still new to journalism after switching from a pre-med track in college, she does not know if she wants to pursue reporting or editing. She aspires to work for a magazine outlet like The Atlantic or The New Yorker, where she can work on more in-depth pieces because she likes the ability to develop stories over time. If one thing sums up who she is as a person, is her ability (or lack thereof) to ride a bike.
"I'm proof you can learn how to ride a bike and then forget," Sidney said.
