Apple Valley Man Killed and Two Juveniles Hurt in Head on Crash on Bear Valley Road Near Locust Lane Friday Evening
Police said the driver of a Range Rover crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a Silverado head on.
APPLE VALLEY, CA — A 28-year-old Apple Valley man was killed and two juvenile passengers were hurt after a head-on crash on Bear Valley Road on Friday evening, authorities said.
The crash was reported at about 7:46 p.m. on Aug. 7, 2026, between Locust Lane and Deep Creek Road. Apple Valley police said the collision involved a 2007 Land Rover Range Rover and a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the Silverado died at the scene. His name has not been released while next of kin are notified.

Police said a 36-year-old Barstow man was driving the Range Rover westbound when investigators determined it entered the eastbound lanes and struck the Silverado head on. The Range Rover driver stayed at the scene, cooperated with investigators and was later taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Two juvenile passengers in the Silverado were also taken to a local hospital and were reported in stable condition. Authorities did not release their names. The Apple Valley Police Department said the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team responded, processed evidence and interviewed witnesses.

Bear Valley Road is a busy route through Apple Valley, and the collision forced a closure between Deep Creek Road and Locust Lane while investigators worked the scene.
