Monroe Woman and 10-Year-Old Passenger Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on S. Custer Road in Raisinville Township

RAISINVILLE TWP., MI — A Monroe woman and a 10-year-old passenger were killed Wednesday evening in a crash involving three vehicles in Raisinville Township, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the wreck happened around 7:12 p.m. on S. Custer Road, west of Plum Grove Drive. The woman, identified as 56-year-old Amy M. Beason, had stopped to turn into a private driveway when her SUV was struck from behind, then pushed into the opposite lane.

What Deputies Said

The sheriff’s office said a 38-year-old Dundee man driving a 2010 Ford F-150 hit Beason’s 2025 Honda HR-V from the rear. Deputies said that impact sent the SUV into oncoming traffic, where it was struck head-on by a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 61-year-old man from Montgomery, Texas.

Investigators said Beason and the girl in the front passenger seat were not wearing seat belts. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The F-150 driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, according to deputies.

Passenger Injuries Noted

Police said the Silverado carried the driver’s wife in the front seat and two daughters, ages 18 and 23. Deputies said all four people in that vehicle were not belted and were taken to Toledo ProMedica Hospital in serious condition.

The sheriff’s office said alcohol was not a factor in the crash. It remains under investigation, and officials did not say whether any citations or charges had been issued.

Officials have not released any further details about why Beason had stopped, whether speed played a role, or when the investigation may be completed. No court date has been announced.
