Caleigh Bartash, Intern
Caleigh Bartash is a rising senior and journalism major at the University of Maryland - College Park. She enjoys telling underreported, people-focused stories. Caleigh has been interested in reporting since elementary school, when she started studying the KidsPost and obsessively reading the Yahoo News homepage for fun. Her two journalist parents may have played a role, too. Caleigh is excited to be a multiplatform editing intern at Stars and Stripes in summer 2021.
In addition, Caleigh is proud to be general assignment editor and head copy editor at Maryland’s community news site, Stories Beneath the Shell. In her spare time, she has been training to graduate from a brown belt to a black belt in taekwondo. Caleigh is a proud Washington native and long-suffering D.C. United fan. She is an avid baker who hopes to one day master the art of the snickerdoodle.
